Bermudan boarders enjoying football at De Aston School

Bermudan boarding students at De Aston School in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, are enjoying footballing success alongside their studies.

Year 10 students Zy Brangman, Tai Cariah and Oni Smith were part of a team from De Aston who won the Coastal and Wolds Futsal tournament last week. They emerged victorious in the tournament with three wins and a draw against teams from local schools.

Away from school both Zy and Tai have attended a football county trial, and train regularly with Lincoln United FC. They also play for Cherry Willingham FC, who compete in Division Two of the Lincoln and District Sunday League.

Andrew Quinlan, Head of Boarding at De Aston School, said:

“It’s great to see three of our Bermudan boarding students getting involved and enjoying their football.

“Zy and Tai are playing regularly for Cherry Willingham FC, which is a really good standard for them. We’re looking forward to continuing to support them going forward and seeing what their futures hold.”

At De Aston School we know that young people benefit from a variety of exciting experiences that occur outside the classroom as well as within it. Boarding students are encouraged to take part and get involved in a number of clubs and sporting activities, to discover new talents and develop life-long interests.
