Plastics needed for Lincolnshire Show eco-garden

Sneak peak of the plastic garden design.

A team of students from De Aston School are creating a garden using recycled plastics as part of this year’s Lincolnshire Show Schools Challenge.

Organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, the challenge is open to nursery, primary, secondary and special schools in Greater Lincolnshire.

There are ten challenges to choose from, with the De Aston team selecting ‘Reuse and Grow’ as their theme. Their aim will be to design and create a garden which utilises recycled plastics.

To help with the project the team is calling on fellow students to donate as many used plastics as possible. They are on the lookout for plastic bottle tops, small plastic bottles and clean plastic wrappers, which will all be used to help create the garden.

Any donations can be handed in to Mrs Perkins, Mrs Simister, Mrs Boulton or Mr Jones before the Easter holidays.

Eco-conscious students at De Aston have a number of opportunities to get involved in schemes to help the environment, including joining the De Aston Eco Group. Further details can be found on our website.
