De Aston staff narrowly beat a team of Sixth Form students in this year’s staff versus students basketball game yesterday.
A competitive, end-to-end encounter finished with the staff claiming a 14-12 victory in what was an entertaining and good-natured clash.
Some brilliant, energetic play from the student team ensured the contest remained in the balance until the final whistle, but in the end the experience of the staff team was just about enough to see them through.
Roared on by an enthusiastic crowd of students, players from both sides enjoyed moments to shine, with successful shots from Mr Bray being particularly loudly cheered from the touchlines.
Student team: Dayo Adelekan, Alex Black, Jack Plume, Sancho Jackson, Davey Wallace, Steph Leung.
Staff team: Mr Bray, Mr Kettlewell, Mr Holden, Mr Jenkinson, Mr Hillsmith, Mr Miller.
