De Aston students perform EVOLVE live music at LPAC

Music students from De Aston School performed live at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) on Friday as part of the EVOLVE programme.

The Year 8 and 9 students designed the entire show themselves, coming up with a story line, directing, writing some of the music and rehearsing the show.

They put on two performances at the LPAC on Friday 29 November 2019. The first performance during the day was put on for Year 7 De Aston students, while the evening performance entertained an audience of family, friends and teachers.

Head of Music, Mrs Southern praised the students:

“The students behaved impeccably and were a pleasure to work with. Their performance was excellent and they should all feel incredibly proud of themselves. They also all achieved an arts award for completing the project.”

The EVOLVE programme is designed to help build relationships between schools, cultural organisations and venues to inspire young people across Lincolnshire to get involved in music.

The Music department at De Aston aims to develop performance and composition skills, as well as develop listening skills and an all-round appreciation and love of music. Find out more about Music at De Aston.
